(Duluth, MN) -- Duluth is the second city in Minnesota with a ban on conversion therapy. The Duluth City Council unanimously approved a ban Monday which prohibits counseling that seeks to change someone's sexual orientation or gender identity. Several dozen people gathered on the steps of City Hall before the meeting carrying colorful signs urging local lawmakers to act. OutFront Minnesota's Monica Meyer said, "We know that conversion "therapy" does not work and only does harm to its victims. The evidence is clear that this is medical malpractice." She accused of the Minnesota Senate of failing to protect L-G-B-T-Q citizens earlier this year, prompting cities to step up.
