Elissa Johnson
Crisis Services Specialist
Elissa Johnson has been involved in the movement to end
discriminatory and relationship abuse for over six years. She is
originally from Southern Illinois where she began her work as a
volunteer crisis advocate and went on to work as a Volunteer Coordinator
for the same organization. Within domestic violence and rape crisis
services, she has also filled the role of prevention educator, crisis
worker, policy developer, medical advocate and event organizer. Elissa
has consistently kept up her work as a volunteer, providing her skills
to GLBT youth and pro-choice organizations.
At OutFront Minnesota, Elissa works in the Anti-Violence Program
providing crisis counseling, advocacy and referral to survivors of
domestic and sexual violence and GLBT hate crimes. Elissa brings a
survivor-centered and option-based approach to counseling and advocacy.
