This mid-term election is one of most important in many years
and we need everyone to pitch in. We cannot afford to have one
voter stay home on Election Day. Starting Saturday, we will be
working non-stop to Get Out the Vote. Sign up for a shift or two
of door knocking or phone banking, and grab a friend to
volunteer with you.
We especially need more people to work out of our GLBT Action
Center on Election Day. Do not miss this chance to be a part of
one of our Get Out the Vote teams that will be sent into
progressive neighborhoods.
Sign up for the 96 Hours of Action today!
After signing up, you will be emailed the most current schedule

Wisconsin Needs Our
Help
Help make history
Help Make History - Work to Defeat the Constitutional Amendment
in Wisconsin and the seven other states facing marriage
amendments.
We just received word from our friends in Wisconsin who are
working around the clock to defeat the constitutional ban on
marriage and civil unions that they need help countering the
thousands upon thousands of dollars Focus on the Family is
spending on the campaign in support of the amendment. Please
support Fair Wisconsin's efforts to defeat the amendment by
donating money and time to the campaign. Their website is
http://www.fairwisconsingroups.com - please give what you
can. For people in the Twin Cities, it is a quick drive to River
Falls to work a shift on the phones calling amendment opponents
to make sure they get to the polls. A few hours of your time
could help bring out enough voters to defeat the amendment -
sign up today on the Fair Wisconsin website.
The public opinion polls in the last few weeks have shown that
voter support for constitutional amendments banning marriage and
civil unions has decreased. Let's help our friends keep their
states fair minded.
You can also still take part in the Phone Home campaign if you
come from or know anyone in the 8 states fighting the
amendments. Just go to
http://www.phonehome2006.org/ to find all the tools you need
to quickly and easily contact your relatives, friends,
classmates and former co-workers in these states and tell them
you need them to do the right thing on Nov. 7 in Wisconsin,
South Dakota, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, South Carolina,
Tennessee, and Virginia.
Thanks for doing your part to stand up for fairness and equality
for GLBT people!

Inside OutFront
... an insiders view of the day-to-day work of OutFront
Minnesota
OutFront Minnesota continues to advocate for safe schools and
provide information and services to teachers, students, and
families, in part through our participation in the Minnesota
School OUTreach Coalition. The Coalition recently took part in
its second Education Minnesota conference, providing resources
to educators from across Minnesota about GLBT-related questions
that come up in their districts. OutFront Minnesota's Legal &
Policy Analyst, Phil Duran, helped answer questions about the
Minnesota Human Rights Act and Equal Access Act and their
application to GLBT students. We look forward to continuing our
work toward assuring GLBT students access to a safe and
supportive learning environment.
