Casting for the "Lawn Sign Drill
Team"
Be
part of the flashiest, most politically active
attraction in this year's Pride Parade
There's still time to join the inaugural "Lawn Sign
Drill Team". We need a few more people to march,
twirl, and toss as part of this
professionally-choreographed display of just how
versatile these lawn signs can be. Drill Team
members will be some of the first to get one of our
complimentary, newly designed OutFront Minnesota
t-shirts! There will be one rehearsal next week, so
contact Adam soon at (612) 822-0127 ext. 112 or
arobbins@outfront.org.

OutFront Minnesota is Now Hiring
OutFront Minnesota is pleased to announce two half-time
positions that have recently opened in the Anti-Violence
Program: 1) Domestic Violence Program Specialist and 2)
Crisis Services Specialist. Both of these positions are
a vital part of our community services strategy and we
hope to fill them as soon as possible.
The ideal candidate would have experience providing
crisis advocacy services, a demonstrated working
knowledge of the various dynamics of violence,
especially intimate partner related violence, and
familiarity with the unique issues facing both the GLBT
communities as a whole and the unique barriers facing
GLBT crime victims. Finally, qualified candidates will
have a willingness to be flexible as well as an ability
to work in a fast-paced environment.
The work of the OutFront Minnesota Anti-Violence Program
is closely tied to the social change goals of the
organization. It is necessary for candidates to both
respect the mission of OutFront Minnesota and understand
the importance of believing that we truly can eradicate
violence and can create that social change.
For further information about these and other employment
opportunities, please visit our website at

Scott Fearing is Leaving OutFront
Minnesota
After nearly 12 years of employment, Scott Fearing will
be saying farewell to OutFront Minnesota this month. “It
has been the greatest honor and privilege to work with
and for the GLBT and allied communities of Minnesota,”
stated Fearing.
Scott joined the OutFront Minnesota team shortly after
Minnesota passed its landmark legislation adding sexual
orientation to it Human Rights Act. “I often tell people
that I have the best job in the world,” says Fearing,
“and I am not joking. It has been very rewarding to hear
from many people about the impact that my education has
had on their understanding of these issues.”
He will finish his tenure with OutFront Minnesota the
weekend of the 2006 Twin Cities Pride Festival, after
which he will be joining his partner, Todd Gordon, in
Rochester, NY. “The social and cultural importance of
the Pride Festival is something I have always valued, so
when I was determining my departure from Minnesota and
OutFront Minnesota, I could think of no better send off
than my favorite community celebration.”
Help us say farewell to Scott!
-
Join us for a reception in our Pride Pavilion on
Saturday, June 24th, at 1:00pm. Have a piece of cake
and wish Scott well!
-
March with Scott in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June
25th. We’re asking members and friends from all over
Minnesota to walk with us in the parade this year,
following the justFair Lawn Sign Drill Team! Sign up
at

Inside OutFront
...an
insider's view of the day-to-day work of OutFront
Minnesota...
Congratulations to the more than 200 people that came to
the Varsity Theater on Monday night to celebrate our
legislative success at the Capitol. Local actors
T. Mychael Rambo and Beth Gilleland along with music
favorites 'the girls:' Lori Dokken, Patty Peterson, Erin
Schwab, & Judi Donaghy with special guest Jay Fuchs took
the stage as elected officials, community activists,
candidates, progressive leaders, corporate sponsors, and
our exceptional volunteers enjoyed cocktails and
catering from the Loring Pasta Bar.
As
we danced, laughed, and reminisced into the night; the
community came together for a much needed celebration
and reflection on an important year at the Capitol.
Be sure to check out the
online gallery for photos of the night.
