In Minnesota . . . FairnessCounts

In honor of Freedom to Marry week, be counted among the fair-minded Minnesotans who support the civil rights and inherent dignity of Minnesota’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender citizens and our families.

Please sign our new online petition  and forward it to at least five fair-minded friends, family members or co-workers.   It’s critical we reach beyond the people who regularly hear from us and engage new allies.  Let them know why it’s important to you that they sign.  It only takes a minute to help us remind Minnesota Legislators that in Minnesota . . . FairnessCounts!

Buster Update

Our friend Senator Scott Dibble sent us a letter which the Minnesota Family Council has sent to legislators.  It asks them to discontinue state support for TPT "because of its deliberate effort to propagandize unsuspecting, impressionable young children."

Take Action!

  1. Call or email TPT and thank them for taking a principled stand.  Several folks have told us that they have actually joined TPT because of TPT’s response to this issue.

    email: viewerservices@tpt.org

    phone: (651) 229-1330

  1. Contact your legislators and let them know that you support TPT's decision and want them to continue state funding for TPT.  To find your legislator, click here.

The Wild Party

When first published in 1928, Joseph March’s poem The Wild Party, about a night of debauchery in the life of a vaudeville dancer, became a "scandalous" success and was promptly banned in Boston.

The poem was recently adapted into an award-winning musical that will debut in the Twin Cities this March. The current Lavender Magazine cover story proclaims The Wild Party “a scorching, decadent, wickedly written, and determinedly naughty narrative…”

This is a show you can’t miss! Please join us on March 13 for a special performance to benefit OutFront Minnesota.

justFair Lobby Day is going to be special this year...

...because YOU volunteered to work with us!

April 7th will be our third straight year of record turnout for our justFair Lobby Day, and we need to have a very large force of volunteers deployed to make sure everyone in attendance has a great experience. Whether you can work for 2 hours or all day, we can put your time and talents to good use. Ours is the largest Lobby Day at the State Capitol, and in one day we are able to make an impact that resonates throughout the hallways, offices and committee rooms of the Capitol. None of this is even remotely possible without the help of our volunteers. From registering attendees to bringing groups of constituents to visit with their legislator, our volunteers make it happen at the Capitol. We will be having a Lobby Day volunteer orientation at the Capitol on a Saturday prior to April 7th.  Be a part of our big day, sign up to volunteer!
