It had been a damp and drizzly day with an afternoon thunderstorm. Volunteers and staff milled around the Lobby Day headquarters waiting for the word to begin the final task: loading the moving van with the remains of our big day. Along a wall sat two volunteers. These young men, a couple, had been tireless. They had volunteered for the entire day, starting at 7am. Now they sat quietly in folding chairs, spent. Their eyes were a little sleepy and one held the other's hand as they shared their exhaustion of the day and their affection for each other. They were working for their lives together, their future, and yours. The volunteer program at OutFront Minnesota offers many ways for individuals to give of their time and talent to Minnesota's gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and allied communities.
