Take note of the NEW TIME!
Trans* Folks, Friends & Allies is monthly gathering for people of all genders, organized by OutFront Minnesota's Anti-Violence Program. Collectively, we do our best to create a safe space to gather, network, share our resources and experiences, discuss local and national events in trans* activist communities, and celebrate all of our fabulous gender identities and expressions.
Although we are not a formal support group, we encourage people to join us who want support around confronting transphobia in their lives and embracing their gender identity. A few of us speak Spanish so please don't let that be a barrier for anyone who wishes to join us!
Trans* Folks, Friends & Allies began in the spring of 2010, when members of the Twin Cities trans* community expressed to OutFront Minnesota's Anti-Violence Program that there was a need for a gathering that did not take place in a bar. Out of that request came Trans* Folks, Friends & Allies, which currently meets at Café Southside on Chicago Ave & East 34th Street. We are very grateful to Roxanne Anderson and Anna Mayer for graciously welcoming us to gather in a space that celebrates queer and trans* communities and are happy to support their local business.
